Jail time for Jailbreaking

The high-tech crime of jailbreaking iphones has landed on teen in the rel county jail. It seems that Simon Lancaster made the mistake of jailbreaking the iPhone that he purchased last year, and then getting busted by Homeland Security at Dover airport.

"It was a boneheaded thing to do." Simon said, as he was hauled away in handcuffs "I purchased the phone last year, but forgot that it's not really mine - it belongs to Mr. Jobs and I'm just borrowing it with my purchase money."

Lawyers for Apple computer were seen to be licking their chops at the prospect of putting yet another bonehead behind bars.

Stolen moments? Or Copyright Infringement?

In a strange twist of events, a newlywed couple was jailed for copyright infringement when they shared their photos on Facebook. It seems that new copyright law is so strict that even a photo similar to a copyright image is considered infringement.

Donna Madison, of Greenville, Ohio was flabbergasted. "I couldn't believe it. I saw the photos on Facebook and I knew I had to report the crime. I feel really bad about it too, because Alexis had just bought me a Kindle Fire as a birthday present."

The best friend of Donna and current jailbird Alexis Blande spoke to McCain Media through the bullet proof glass of the inmate visiting room "I don't blame Donna." Alexis said "I would have turned her over to the authorities in a heartbeat. That's what you're supposed to do, right? I mean, I violated copyright and cost Mammus Pictures thousands of potential dollars in sales."

Mammus Pictures, the copyright holder of the picture in question said they would seek the death penalty in this case.

The Mona Lisa

In a stunning case that has left the art world in a state of shock, James Anderson stole the Mona Lisa in broad daylight.

Police quickly apprehended Mr. Anderson just moments after he snapped the photo on his Canon Rebel, a device that can easily be misused for copyright infringement. The thief was wrestled to the ground and dragged from the world famous Musee du Lourve in France while patrons and visitors looked on in shock and horror.

"I just cannot believe it." Said Marie Ellis, a visitor from London "I was standing right behind him when he lifted the camera and snapped the photo."

Another visitor, Sean Johnson from America was livid "It serves him right! Unauthorized photography of a priceless artwork for personal use is the lowest form of theft. Some people have no respect for the hardships that artists and performers face when creating entertainment for us common folk."

McCain Media contacted the estate of Leonardo daVinci for comment and was told that lawyers were looking into the matter.  "We understand that Mr. Anderson stole a digital copy of the Mona Lisa with his personal camera. The museum has examined the original for damages and found none, which is fortunate for Mr. Anderson."

The stolen property, contained on a 32GB memory card, is still being held as evidence and will be returned to the museum once the legal proceedings are finished.  Museum officials are reported as being extremely concerned for the digital copy and worry that the French police may damage it inadvertently.
